Reconditioning
Pallet Repair is a recovery and reconditioning program for used pallets offered to customers who also use our new pallet product line.
Pallet Remanufacturing: Process performed on used pallets that will be repaired:
- Classification of pallets carried out by the customer at their facility.
- Classification and separation of pallets to be repaired at Madepal.
- Replacement of damaged upper and/or lower deck boards.
- Replacement of damaged blocks or stringers.
- Removal of marks, stamps, and logos.
- Washing and sanitization of the pallet.
- Application of heat treatment to the pallets in accordance with ISPM 15. This allows the repaired packaging to be used for international trade.
Although we promote and support drying and heat treatment as methods of wood preservation for protecting and conserving wood against threats such as fungi, insects, and bacteria, because they are effective, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, we perform wood preservation treatment by immersion in salts only upon the customer’s specific request, since our Madepal Green program restricts the use of contaminating agents.
- Inorganic wood preservative with low toxicity and free of arsenic.
- Highly effective in controlling insects, fungi, and bacteria.
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use and for contact with soil. Effectively replaces CCA salts.
Wood Processing
- We have three wood-drying chambers with a capacity of 300 cubic meters per month.
- We offer Heat Treatment for cargo packaging (Pallets, Reels, Spools, etc.) intended for international trade, in accordance with the requirements established by the FAO through ISPM 15, the “International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures.”
- Our process control eliminates defects caused by improper drying and includes HT heat treatment, improving the physical and mechanical properties of the wood fiber and increasing the wood’s resistance to insect attack.
- Drying and Heat Treatment are methods of wood preservation and protection that are free of contaminating agents.
- We are certified and authorized by the ICA to perform heat treatment on our products in accordance with ISPM 15.
