MADEPAL S.A.S., a wooden industrial packaging company, quantified its corporate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for 2025, preparing its Corporate Carbon Footprint Report in accordance with the guidelines of the GHG Protocol, within the framework of the Carbon Neutral Company program led by the CVC and ICONTEC.
According to the results of the 2025 inventory, the organization generated a total of 236.17 tCO₂e, distributed as follows:
Scope 1 (direct emissions): 11.66 tCO₂e
Scope 2 (electricity): 0.00 tCO₂e
Scope 3 (other indirect emissions): 224.52 tCO₂e
The year 2025 corresponds to the base year of the organization’s Carbon Neutrality Management Plan; therefore, no reduced or removed emissions, nor reductions resulting from projects implemented by the organization, are reported.
In compliance with its compensation policy, MADEPAL S.A.S. offset 100% of its Scope 1 emissions for 2025, equivalent to 11.66 tCO₂e, through the acquisition of 12 tCO₂e, certified through the SICCARBONO project:

For Scope 2, emissions were zero because the organization is a self-generator of photovoltaic energy.
The certificates were acquired through Smurfit Westrock, a strategic wood supplier to the organization and an entity with duly certified emission reduction and removal projects.
With this action, MADEPAL S.A.S. declares corporate carbon neutrality for Scopes 1 and 2 corresponding to 2025, and commits to maintaining this condition during the 2025–2028 period through the implementation of reduction actions, technological modernization, strengthening the use of renewable energy, and annual compensation established in this Carbon Neutrality Plan.
Likewise, the organization establishes a long-term vision for the continuity of its climate management strategy for the periods 2029–2031 and 2032–2034, with the purpose of continuing to work, explore, and evaluate opportunities that allow it to maintain carbon neutrality in Scopes 1 and 2 and progressively advance in emission reductions.
The organization reaffirms its commitment to the continuous improvement of its environmental performance and to actively contributing to climate change mitigation within the framework of its productive operations.
Emissions generated by wastewater treatment in a septic tank are excluded from the 2025 measurement because the associated emissions are considered non-material and sufficient information is not available to quantify them with an acceptable level of uncertainty.
Emissions associated with the hybrid vehicle are also excluded, as the company does not have operational control over this vehicle within the organizational boundaries defined for the GHG inventory.
It is clarified that, in the 2025 measurement, the fuel used in stationary sources corresponds to biomass. The wood acquired as raw material corresponds to pine, and the wood waste (“firewood”) generated during the production process is sold as fuelwood for combustion in stationary sources. CO₂ emissions from biomass are considered biogenic emissions, in accordance with the GHG Protocol guidelines.
