Types of Pallets

  • Double Entry and Four Entry Pallets:

These classifications refer to the number of sides from which a forklift can insert its forks. Double entry pallets allow access from two opposite sides, while four entry pallets allow access from all four sides, providing greater handling flexibility.

  • Single Base and Double Base Pallets:

The "base" refers to the lower structure of the pallet. Single base pallets have a simple lower structure, while double base pallets have a more robust lower structure, allowing them to support heavier loads and stack more securely.

  • Winged Pallets:

These pallets have extensions on the upper platform that protrude beyond the lower supports. These "wings" provide a larger support surface for the load and can facilitate strapping and stretch wrapping.

  • Flat Pallets:

These are the most common pallets, with a flat and uniform upper surface. They are versatile and used for a wide variety of loads.

  • Reversible Pallets:

This type of pallet is designed so that both sides can be used as a loading surface. This increases their durability and lifespan, as the pallet can be flipped when one side is damaged.

It is important to consider the specific needs of each operation to choose the most suitable type of pallet.
